What Almost 2 Decades Teaches You About Corporate Video Production

What almost 2 decades teaches you about corporate video production

Sometimes, we have to pinch ourselves here at Creswick Creative. It’s hard to believe that we’ve now spent almost 2 decades providing our clients with quality video content and doing what we love. As you can imagine, we’ve also seen a lot of change in our time.

Once upon a time, video was seen largely as a luxury by businesses of all sizes. Today, it’s more accessible than ever and considered a crucial component in a successful Marketing Strategy. According to Syndacast, 74% of all internet traffic in 2017 will be in video. That’s massive!

Sure, there are a heap of really encouraging statistics out there in relation to video but at the end of the day, video quality is a major factor. While a DIY iPhone video may work for some brands, in the corporate world, your video represents you and your business values.

The great news is that when it comes to corporate video production, businesses have so many options at their fingertips and a variety of ways to establish themselves as an industry leader and authoritative voice. Since 1998, again and again, we’ve seen how businesses of all sizes have used corporate video as part of their marketing mix to enhance their reputation and to drive profit.

Here are some of our favourites types of corporate videos:

  1. Customer testimonial videos

It’s one thing to shout your own praises but it’s another thing completely to have your customers rave about your business. While being relatively cost-effective, client testimonial videos showcase people who your ideal client can relate to. There’s no better way to build trust!

  1. Training videos

In recent years, we’ve seen a real boost in corporate video production in relation to training videos. When used as an alternative to one-on-one training or to complement training, they’re second to none for staff education. Everyone learns differently and these videos have the potential to communicate important information, processes and policies in an engaging manner.

  1. CEO/Company address

When used in the right setting, these videos are great for updating key stakeholders or influencers on any news, the company’s overall position or even strategies and future plans.

As you can see, there are so many benefits to creating a quality corporate video and then assessing how to best utilise it depending on your long-term goals. It’s amazing how this one quality piece of content can be used over and over to tell your company’s stories and emote the values at the core of your branding.

On the flip side (it would be irresponsible if we didn’t bring this up), we’ve seen how poor quality videos can have the reverse effect. In our experience, a corporate video isn’t where you want to cut corners. You need to be proud of this video – the story it tells, the visuals and themes used, how people are presented on-screen, how it’s all edited together so that your audience wants to learn more about your company.

Not all video production companies are created equal and unfortunately, there are some out there who aren’t committed to quality service and production. Three warning signs that you may not be dealing with an experienced provider include:

  • They can’t provide you with a Showreel of past work.
  • No timeline or processes are outlined in your initial meeting.
  • A fixed quote and/or Contract for their services hasn’t been provided or discussed.

Two decades on and we continue to be incredibly passionate about what we do. We love working alongside businesses to deliver quality videos they’re proud to showcase to the world.
